Athletics Department

Assistant Principal & Director of Athletics

Welcome From the Athletic Director
My name is Justin Annen, and I serve as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Lake Mills High School. This is my third year in the athletic director role and my 13th year with the district. Before stepping into administration, I spent 10 years as the elementary Physical Education teacher. I've had the opportunity to coach several sports here in Lake Mills, including football (2 years), JV basketball (10 years), head varsity baseball (6 years), and cross country (1 year).

I’m proud to be part of the Lake Mills Booster Club and also lead our Student Leadership Athletic Advisory Council (SLAAC), where we focus on building student voice and leadership within our athletic programs. I care deeply about the Lake Mills community and work hard to create a positive experience for all our student-athletes. I'm excited to see what our students will earn and accomplish this year at Lake Mills High School.

Athletic Department Administrative Assistant

Welcome From the Athletic Department Administrative Assistant
My name is Christina Berndt, and I am the athletic department administrative assistant. While I also serve in many other roles within our school, the athletics department is my largest role and the one I am most passionate about.

I am an alumni of Lake Mills myself, and my L-Cat Pride runs deep!

I love being a resource to parents and student-athletes. I am happy to answer any questions about our athletic department in general, athletic sign-up procedures, and any other questions you may have.

Join SLAAC

Student Leadership Athletic Advisory Council (SLAAC) consists of students who participate on any athletic team. Students will meet monthly with the athletic director to discuss athletic issues and concerns. This group participates in community service projects, focuses on becoming better leaders, and promote a positive student-athlete image in the community.

Check the daily bulletin for our next meeting!

Our Staff Cares

L-Cats athletics programs are filled with staff, administrators, coaches, and families who care about our student-athletes and are invested in their growth and success.

If you are unsure about joining a team as an athlete, consider becoming a manager of one of our LMHS athletics teams.

Don't miss out on your chance to be a part of something really amazing this school year!

Please reach out to Ms. Berndt in the main office if you want more information about any of our athletics programs.
